Founded in 1983, Project Success, Inc. (formerly YCA) is a training and consulting firm that drives project success for a diverse global client base. PSI delivers the knowledge, skills, tools and systems to plan and execute projects that achieve targeted results. We employ project management procedures, organizational approaches software tools, practical training courses in the technical and behavioral aspects of project management and consulting assistance in planning and controlling actual projects to meet the multiple needs of our clients. PSI allows companies to gain strategic advantage by acquiring the ability to complete projects consistently on-time, on-budget and to specification. Our services have broad applications, but are particularly critical with respect to strategic projects, product development and introduction, information systems development and implementation, marketing initiatives, facilities development and business process re-engineering. Projects are both domestic and international in scope.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PSI Senior Consultants supervise and mentor other consultants in planning, facilitating and improving our client project teams through the delivery of project management strategies, tools, methodologies and training, both at client sites and our Training facility in Atlanta. It is expected that Senior Consultants will continually expand their professional capabilities such that they can more broadly and positively impact client companies.

Responsibilities include:

•Introduce, implement and leverage the capabilities of various project management software tools (Microsoft Project and Oracle’s Primavera Products).

•Develop project charters that concisely define project scope, objectives, major stakeholders, constraints, assumptions and risks.

•Facilitate work breakdown structure development, which includes team analysis of project work content, breakdown and definition of manageable activities and allocation of responsibilities to individual team members.

•Guide the creation of project networks. Specifically, develop logic diagrams illustrating precedence relationships among activities.

•Assess and prescribe activity durations and network schedules to determine project length, component timing and critical paths.

•Employ complex schedule compressing techniques. Utilize established and intuitive schedule crashing methods as required to meet project deadlines and to optimize the relationship between the costs of performing activities more quickly versus the costs of extending project durations.

•Lead and facilitate project update meetings.

•Generate reports and other information to document project programs, procedures and performance.

•Coach and mentor team members, project managers and management.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

75% travel – 3 weeks a month

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Ten years in a manufacturing, industrial or technical environment with minimum of 2 years of management experience (hiring, coaching, mentoring, handling personnel issues, profit/loss responsibility, etc.). Strong communication, facilitation and training skills. Proven leadership skills. Excellent computer and analysis skills. Strong technical writing skills (punctuation, spelling, grammar, etc.). Solid work experience in project teams in one or more of the following areas: * Product development/introduction * Reengineering/core process redesign * Facility start-up/equipment installation * Major maintenance * IT development/implementation * Marketing program development/implementation.

PSI desires professionals with excellent communication and relationship building skills. This executive is expected to be a mentor that inspires trust, commitment and results in both PSI and its client companies. The successful candidate must be a good listener with keen analytical skills that can serve as an example of honesty, integrity and effort. This person should be a student of industry and someone that enjoys learning as much as teaching. Initiative, confidence and charisma will be relevant professional characteristics in every client engagement. This individual must be a team player, a builder of cooperative relationships and excited to join an organization that is entrepreneurial, collaborative and collegial.

EDUCATION:

A Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technical degree is required. Masters work or additional training is a plus.
